  Shavuot is the Jewish holiday that celebrates the giving of the Torah at Mount Sinai. Like the festivals of Passover and Sukkot, Shavuot is one of the shalosh regalim (three pilgrimage holidays), on which Jews were commanded to make pilgrimage to the Temple in Jerusalem.
